DP World introduces Bharat Africa Setu to increase trade between India and Africa.

Bharat Africa Setu was introduced by DP World to give Indian companies access to strong distribution, trade finance, and warehousing networks. Through air and marine connectivity between ports, industrial zones, and logistics parks, the platform will link Africa and India. 53 African nations will be accessible to Indian exporters through the project. There, the business already has a robust logistics presence with connections to 260,000 points of sale. Currently, India exports commodities valued at US$28 billion to Africa, which makes up 6.5% of its total imports. The Bharat Africa Setu would combine value-added services with efficient physical infrastructure to create a full commerce ecosystem. It will ease cash flow limitations, guarantee quick access to trade support services, allow Indian producers to demonstrate new product concepts, and make it easier to comply with government clearances, licensing requirements, and regulatory processes. "To fully unlock this potential, it is essential to strengthen connectivity, reduce trade bottlenecks, and empower Indian businesses to access and thrive in Africa's dynamic markets," said Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal. One tangible move in this approach is the Bharat Africa Setu. They are dedicated to creating an effective, future-ready commerce corridor that enables smooth export flows between India and Africa, promoting wealth and growth on both sides of the Arabian Sea, by utilizing private sector innovation and investment. "By increasing bilateral trade efficiency and improving market access, their partnership with the Government of India to establish the 'Bharat Africa Setu' will open doors for Indian exporters to the vast opportunity in Africa," stated Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DP World. Ten ports and terminals, three economic zones, 203 warehouses totaling more than 1.5 million square meters, and a wealth of knowledge in freight operations, logistics management, and market access capabilities are all part of DP World's vast portfolio throughout Africa. Through the integration of these services, DP World provides intelligent and robust supply chain solutions to Indian companies, allowing them to prosper in the African market and protect commerce from worldwide interruptions.
